February 2012 – NASCAR, the largest sanctioning body of stock car racing in the United States, is committed to sustainability.  Let’s face it – motor racing isn’t an environmentally responsible sport. It’s an oxymoron, but NASCAR is committed to proving otherwise. Even as early as 2008, the NASCAR GREEN program was launched to focus on sustainability. Research and partnering with a Texas-based company, Safety-Kleen, began practices toward greening up this motor sport.
